Campsite at Big Trees

After we set up camp the first night, and finally got Lake to bed, John and I were able to relax for a little while by the fire. We looked up through a break in the trees and saw the Big Dipper perfectly placed in between. It was a perfect beginning to our trip and a lovely ending to each beautiful day.

We camped next to a beautifully restored meadow. John is friends with one of the environmental scientists in the area and he told us how the meadow used to be covered in grass and used for sports and picnics and whatnot. Thankfully it's now peaceful and full of wild flowers with a little creek running through the middle. So peaceful ...

And Lake took baths in the tub below. She loved it!!
