The hurdles involve some last minute earthquake retrofitting our insurance company threw at us, a mistake on our renovation loan amount that nobody noticed until now (luckily it was not for a large amount), and permits we were told we didn't need but now we need an inspector to review. Of course, we knew there would be hurdles and we factored extra money into the loan in order to cover the hurdles ... let's just hope we factored enough.
The good news is that the bathroom walls don't need much reframing. We didn't know how bad the rot might be until we took down the drywall. It's not too bad. A few fix its here and there. AND the back patio room has insulation!! We thought we would have to pull down the drywall, insulate, and put up new drywall ... but we don't. Yah!! Plus, our contractor might have a stove for us for only $75. We factored in $600 for a new stove so this would be nice savings.
Anyway, I'll post more demo pictures this weekend, and some more pics of design ideas for the bathrooms and kitchen ...
