I have to share a picture of Lake's first drawings because she has been putting so much effort into practicing her techniques for so long. (Sorry the picture is blurry.)
They are smiley faces!!!
She first mastered the circle by practicing balloons. Then she put two circles together. Then she started with the line underneath and later added a third circle for the nose. She hasn't quite mastered the ability to make the smile turn up. It basically turns out in whatever way her hand ends up in the flash of the moment, sometimes happy, sometimes grumpy, sometimes a frown, sometimes a little crazy. But of course it's always a smiley face in her mind and when she completes her work of art she yells "A SMILEY FACE" and she's just as happy as can be.
Pretty amazing if you ask me =)
