I have to admit I was a little worried about using brown grout on the bathroom floors. I saw pictures of it but had never seen it in person. Usually people use a charcoal color or light color. Since light or white wasn't an option for a house where children play and black/charcoal and white didn't really fit our color theme, we decided to go with the brown color named light smoke. I think it turned out great!! Here is the final product with the trim installed. We still need to paint everything (and the shower and tub still needs white grout), but it's lookin' pretty good already =)
And below that is the new bathroom window installed and trimmed out. Mark (our contractor) has done an AWESOME job on the door and window trim throughout the house. We were only going to install four windows (the kitchen, both baths, and Lake's room) but it looks like we might have enough money in our contingency to install more, starting with the three big picture windows in the front of the house. I'm totally stoked about it because Mark does such great window work, and our house will be more energy efficient and safe. I have been worried about Lake throwing something at those big windows and huge shards of glass crashing down. SCARY!!
