Here is the new kitchen window framed out. We decided to remove that cabinet to the left because the window will be more centered over the sink but not between the two cabinets. I'm glad we took it out because it made it look too boxy in there. We're going to hang a fruit basket instead, something we like and couldn't find a space for in our current place.
The last picture shows the old window for comparison ...
