The flooring has begun. The guys didn't think they made much progress today but I think they did an AWESOME job!! John had to sand out the grout underneath the fireplace in order for the flooring to fit underneath. They installed a lot of the moisture barrier, fixed damaged parts of the sub-floor, and installed a good portion of hardwood until the nail gun began to act up.
AND we finally got a glimpse of what the floor will look like. I was a little worried because I kept putting a few pieces together and it looked a little flat to me (not much variation, we wanted lots!) The pictures of the floor online looked great, and the reviews about the product were all exceptional, but all I could see was 'flat'. I kept thinking, "Well, it's too late to return it" - considering we had a ton of it sitting in our living room, literally (and John put it there all by himself!!) So, I kept the faith and trusted my fellow online reviewing humans that the final product would be brilliant.
And they came through ...
The pictures don't do it justice. The floor is absolutely beautiful.
Walnut Stained Hickory.
Perfect.
